On Saturday 12th July 2009 the gardens will be open for charity, through the National Garden Scheme, from 2-5pm.

Admission £3.50 per person
Children free

Brilliant borders, fabulous flowers, regal roses and acres of delicious vegtables await you in our stunning rural oasis! Enjoy afternoon tea in the Courtyard Tearoom after your walk round, or come for lunch in the Carriage House Restaurant.

Summer 2009 Vegetables on sale

Fresh, healthy, delicious produce is about to burst out of the kitchen garden!

Sale of produce will commence on Sunday 12th July and thereafter will take place on Saturdays from 11am - 4.30pm in the Courtyard at Claydon.

Advance orders may be placed for collection on saturdays.

BBC Gardens Illustrated feature

Claydon Gardens were featured in this month's BBC Gardens Illustrated magazine "Gardens to Visit" section. The gardens were written up as "a classic example of an English country house garden, both decorative and productive. The 2-acre walled kitchen garden supplies the needs of the restaurant and locals. The gardens are undergoing re-development, and contain a glasshouse, pool, rose garden and various herbaceous borders."

Now that we are a "garden to visit" we hope to welcome you on your visit this summer!

NGS Day

The NGS (National Garden Scheme) is taking place at Claydon on Sunday 7th September between 2-5pm. Normal admission £3.50 adults/children free.

Vegetable Stall

The vegetable stall is opening up for the season on Saturday 21st June through to October, selling seasonal vegetables grown in the Kitchen garden. The hours of trading are Saturdays 10.30 - 4.30 and Sunday-Wednesday 2.00 - 4.30pm. Closed all day Thursday/Friday.

Our visit to Claydon Estate Gardens was an absolute delight, I said to the gentleman at the gate that the price of entry should be greatly inceased.
Anyone visiting would be enchanted by the wonderful scents and perfumes, everywhere looked immaculate and very productive - what a lovely surprise.

The new season starts this Saturday 15th March, and preparation is going well, with the spring bulbs looking lovely.
The gardens are also open all four days over Easter.

We have had to change the date of our Open Day to Sunday 18th May. The gardens will be open from 12 - 5pm (Last Admission 4.30pm) Admission for this day is FREE.

The Gardens are opening up for Mothers' Day 2nd March at a special entrance price of £2.00 between 1.30pm - 4.00pm.

Season Opening

The Gardens are opening up on Saturday 15th March'08, and will also be open all four days of Easter when there should be a fine showing of spring bulbs. During the winter season we have extended the garden with a new border of mixed shrubs and perennials and also an additional walk to the south of the Kitchen Garden.

The vegetable garden continues to produce a wide variety of quality produce available to buy Saturday to Wednesday at the times specified below.

The NGS (National Garden Scheme) day is taking place at Claydon on Sunday 9th September between 2pm and 5pm. With the gardens in full bloom and teas due to be served in a marque on the lawns, it should prove to be a wonderful afternoon. And with gate receipts raising money for charity there is no excuse not to attend. We hope to see you here.

Hovercraft Racing Weekend

A very successful hovercraft racing weekend, with large crowds and good weather.
The kitchen garden is in full production now after a difficult slow start, but we still need more sun. Vegetables are going to the Carriage House Restaurant and Ethical Food Co, the rest are sold daily at the stall by the garden gate. Available now: potatoes, lettuce, cucumber, cabbages, broad beans, spinach, chard, kohl rabi, tomatoes and courgettes.

Opening times for veg stall:

Sunday – Wednesday: 2.00 pm – 4.30 pm

Saturday: 10.30 am – 4.30 pm

Closed Thursday and Friday

Seasonal Bedding

The seasonal bedding has now been planted in all of the flower borders throughout the gardens ready for the summer displays. Plants used included Lilies, Nicotiana, Thittonia, Dahlias and Cleome.

Kitchen Garden Now Fully Planted

The Kitchen Garden is now fully planted and the first seasonal produce is available. Opening times for the kitchen garden produce are Sunday to Wednesday from 2pm until 4.30pm and Saturday between 10.30am and 4.30pm. Closed Thursday and Friday.
