Claydon Estate

Claydon Estate has been the home of the Verney family since 1620.  The Estate has a proud tradition of looking after the land, wildlife, property, employees and latterly visitors.  The Verney family are keen to encourage more visitors to enjoy the Estate's scenery, facilities and produce.

The Landscape was laid out by the second Earl Verney in the late 1700's.  This included not only the impressive house but also the Courtyard, parkland and gardens as you see them today.

Successive generations have sought to maintain these features in a traditional way meaning that they remain largely unaltered, although modern uses have been established.
