About Claydon Estate
Claydon Estate is a thriving, family-run country estate and has been the ancestral home of the Verney family for over 400 years.
2020 was our 400th Anniversary! Find out how we are marking this special Anniversary and our vision for the Estate here.
We are a heritage visitor attraction, events venue and hub for food, art, workshops, wellbeing and retail.
The 18th century Claydon Courtyard is at the heart of the estate, with an excellent eatery and exclusive independent businesses. Visitors can enjoy lunch, buy something unique and beautiful, enrol on a course or treat yourself to a spa day.
We also have two charming holiday cottages, should you want to extend your stay.
The Phoenix Kitchen offers a delicious selection of lunches, afternoon teas, children’s menu, Sunday roasts, plus great Fairtrade coffee and homemade cakes. Our philosophy is to keep it local, fresh and seasonal.
With over 170 acres of scenic parkland and Walled Gardens, Claydon Estate is the perfect venue for private celebrations, corporate functions or public events.
The stunning scenery of the estate also provides plenty of inspiring locations for the film, TV and photographic industries.
We have a diverse selection of properties available for rent on the estate. Our properties range from beautiful cottages to majestic detached houses, isolated farmsteads to terraced properties and storage units to large commercial, agricultural and industrial buildings.
The Archives at Claydon are owned and managed by the Claydon House Trust, an independent charitable trust (Reg Charity no: 326677) set up in 1984. They contain a fascinating collection of letters, papers and historic documents from centuries of Verney and Nightingale family history. To find out more, or to contact them, click here.
