Florence Nightingale’s Carriage
Discover Florence's carriage and our 19th century fire engine
Claydon Courtyard is a hub for food, art, workshops, wellbeing and retail.
Open Daily (except Thursdays) 10am-5pm
The courtyard was built in 1754 and was once the bustling heart of the estate. It housed workshops, stables, coach houses, estate stores, the laundry, brew house and staff accommodation.
Having been carefully renovated, it now attracts visitors who want to enjoy good food, wish to enrol in a variety of courses and workshops, book a spa day or buy something unique and beautiful. We also have two charming holiday cottages, should you want to extend your stay.
The Phoenix Kitchen serves local, fresh and seasonal food throughout the year. Choose from a selection of homemade cakes, brunches, lunches, afternoon teas, Sunday roasts or simply enjoy a cup of our locally roasted Fairtrade coffee. With delicious daily specials and a children’s menu, there’s something for all the family.
Update: A section of Queen Catherine Road, between Steeple Claydon and Claydon Estate, will be closed from 5th October to mid-November 2020. There will be diversions in place and access from Middle Claydon is unaffected. Please see Anglian Water’s website here for further details.
Please note, the National Trust Claydon House and gardens are closed this year, and will remain closed until further notice.
